[TRNSYS-users] Simulating a double skin facade with interior blinds

David,

Thanks for your answer,

In the Window Manager I can change the properties of shading devices(Transmittance, Reflectance, Absorptance).
What if I neglect the amount of Solar Energy being reflected back to the shading system from an interior window? Would there be a significant impact on the thermal behavior of the space?

Secondly, as you say, the mass of the shading device is ignored, but with the given absorptance it should pass on the energy to the air node of the space, right?

BR,
Florian

Florian,
I have spoken to a colleague about writing a model of an operable shading device that is trapped between two pieces of glass. Neither one of us is aware of such a model and neither one of us was too confident in the idea of creating a thermal zone for such a narrow double facade space. TRNBuild/Type56 allows the user to specify an internal shading device on windows (whether EXTERNAL or ADJACENT) but the mass of the shading device is ignored and the shading device is assumed to be open to the zone on the inside (ie not trapped within the two pieces of glass).
Kind regards,
 David

Dear TRNSYS - Community,

I have a question about simulating a façade system with shading elements.

I need to simulate an office room with a double skin façade (not ventilated) with an interior shading system.
The shading system has a very complex geometry, so which inputs would be needed to model the shading system, and how does TRNSYS deal with the mass of the blinds, heating up the space between the glass panes.

Thanks for your help,
