Guy,
To add to the email that Marcus sent, Type92 actually modulates its
energy use to meet whatever setpoint temperature you want it to as long
as the control signal is set to 1. If the control signal is set to 0, it
doesn't provide any cooling. In a sense, when active, it has "perfect"
control. Marcus is quite correct that it doesn't model any
psychrometrics on the air side; you could attach it to a Type33 in order
to figure out the outlet air condition but given its controls, it isn't
ideal. The second thing you should look at is exactly how you want your
PID controller to work. A PID controller typically adjusts a damper
position, a fan speed or a pump speed to keep some outlet (temperature,
flow rate, etc.) at a set point. There are very few cooling devices
where a PID controller would watch a zone temperature and be connected
directly to a cooling capacity adjustment. I would suggest that you look
through the TESS HVAC library as it contains a number of cooling
devices. Once you choose the device, its controls should be fairly easy
to determine.
Best,
 David
