Job/Research Summary

Intermediate-level analyst position providing primary support to
international renewable energy and energy efficiency programs in the
Strategic Energy Analysis Center of the National Renewable Energy
Laboratory. The successful candidate will work closely with senior
analysts in planning and performing analysis activities related to
market transformation, policy, and resource assessment for international
projects.Job 

 

Duties

Support NREL's international energy efficiency and buildings analysis
activities through market-relevant analysis using decision support tools
applicable to technology performance optimization, GIS, economic
analysis, and policy analysis. Provide technical assistance to
developing countries with the design of energy efficiency policies and
programs, coordinating with technical counterparts in NREL's building
programs to inform these analyses. Support domestic and international
energy planning activities that focus on market application of renewable
energy and energy efficiency technologies. 

In addition to possible domestic activities, the position will provide
analysis support to multilateral and bilateral renewable energy programs
in China and South Asia, focusing on energy efficiency and the
commercial buildings sector. This may include working with technical
counterparts on the development of energy efficiency programs and
strategies, as well as providing training on relevant building
performance models that impact energy planning and development.

Minimum Qualifications

Relevant Master's and 5 years experience or equivalent relevant
education/experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Degree in energy analysis, science, engineering, or relevant technical
discipline and five years of relevant work experience. Knowledge of
international energy policies, markets, programs, and project
development activities including strong technical and assessment skills.
Ability to establish viable working relationships with a cross section
of international stakeholders, internal and external to the Laboratory
including industry and country partners. Demonstrated project
management, written and verbal communication, and teaming skills.
Ability to oversee projects and work under minimal supervision for
assigned tasks. Knowledge of project and financial planning practices
and procedures.

Preferred: A working knowledge of international applied policy, markets,
programs, and project development activities in the energy efficiency
and commercial buildings sector. International work experience related
to renewable energy technologies and energy efficiency applications
particularly with U.S. government agency and private sector engagement.
