[TRNSYS-users] question about stratified storage tank

Fredery,
   The temperature of the storage tank depends on 
the thermal losses and gains to the tank. The 
water that goes to the load would probably be a 
great deal hotter than 20C but it may be that an 
external auxiliary heater brings the temperature 
up to the delivery set point or it may be that 
water is maintained at a higher temperature in a 
second tank. Ground water where I live is 
typically at about 10C so the bottom of a 
stratified storage tank could be as cold as that, 
at least temporarily until the solar collector or 
an an auxiliary heater warmed it up.
