Simon,
There aren't any heat pump models in the current standard library.
The TESS HVAC Library has a number of different models available but
they all use the same basic computation methodology and read performance
from an external data file. Which heat pump model you use depends on
which heat pump technology you have (single stage air-to-air, multi
stage water (source) to air, variable speed air (source) to water,
etc.). If you can be more specific about what kind of heat pump you
want to use, I can suggest a specific Type for you.
You will find one difference in heat pump components in that some are
"normalized" and some are not. The non-normalized components require
that the machine's capacity and COP be entered into the external
performance data files for a number of different operating conditions.
The normalized versions take the machine's rated capacity and COP as
parameters while the external performance files contain ratios of
capacity at a particular operating condition to the rated capacity (and
ratios of COP at the operating condition to the rated COP).
