Exactly. I understand and also about denying their
Obsessions leads to multiple checks but denying isn't
the same as secret - like an alcoholic hiding his
addiction is fine, trying to straight cold turkey his
addiction may lead to some blown gaskets.

It's just that everyone seems to have the idea that
adepts are the new Malkavians.

Well, to use your example an alcoholic who tries to hide his addiction
is still an alcoholic.  Fundamentally, they're still nuts, although
perhaps not the masturbating in a pile of their own feces kind of nuts.

I'm thinking 'Monk' more than 'Hannibal'... still nuts, but mostly
together.
