I kind of see them as eccentric, but I also see that
the ability to use magick is also somewhat of a
stabilising force - a functional and legitimate reason
for their normally disturbing rituals. They do not
suffer from COD because they actually have no
irrational behaivour - they get a viable magical
function from their compulsiveness. They appear weird
but have a logical method under the
seemingly-delusional procedures.

I do agree that adepts are a few kinks shy of a smooth
bedsheet but in perspective not too wrinkled. Not any
more or less than normal obsessives.
