Hey. That sounds perfect, provided there aren't any explosions or abrupt
losses of power. But it does raise another question that slipped my mind
earlier today when I typed out the original e-mail:
What is the setup for using different charges on different clockworks? Or,
to put it another way, can you use a significant charge to improve the stats
of a major clockwork, or something like that?
I ask for reasons related to plot (the new girl, the DIYmancer's creation,
the mechanomancer's 'son'), largely because of the background of the Tina
Lovac Automaton in the UA2 book. It seemed to imply that all the parts --
the enigma machine gears, the statues, and the time spent working on it --
would have added up, despite the gears being major elements, the statues
significant, and the time counting only for minor charges.
Or perhaps I'm reading too deep into the dichotomy between story and game
mechanics. I do that sometimes. Probably user error.

It sounds like what you need is a perpetual motion clockwork, rules for
which are given in PoMoMa. As you might guess, this is a variety of
clockwork powered by a perpetual motion machine. IIRC, the main drawback to
this type of clockwork is that the PMM will keep moving faster and faster,
until it eventually explodes, unless the clockwork burns off the excess
energy by doing stuff. Anyone got a copy of PoMoMa on hand to check?

know,
seeing as how I won't be able to get PostModern Magick until April at the
very least, is what would keep her running. She would probably be suspicious
of something if she had cravings for charcoal, and even more suspicious if
there was a wind up key or slot for the same anywhere on her body. What does
that leave?
