I always thought that the "Mafia" with the capital M was largely an urban 
myth combined with good old anti-immigrant sentiment and that what you 
really had was the same sort of organized crime you'd get from anywhere.  
There's gangs who control different things and squabble with other gangs.  
Entrance is mainly a part of where you grew up.  You could be FOB or 4th 
generation and get in if you are in the right neighborhood.  But if you're 
rural it's a no go.
