Nope just riffing. Though I am familiar with The Anno
Dracula books, it was more a rip on those 70s Warhol
horror films.

Thanks for removing the image of one of those
multicolored lithographs from my head (ie Mao,
Marilyn, etc.)! The film gives a solid way to work the
history in and distort it. I can just see Udo Kier as
Cagliostro and Paul Morrisey as The Comte! As for the
Borges ref, it serves as another excuse to pull
Labyinths from the depths of my reading stack.
