Well I was hoping to run it as a part of my current campaign.

Anyone think it would be good to run this scenario right after
thorouhgly frustrating the PCs like or after having them live through
their 'sorrows'? Would it work when the characters are sufficiently sad
and depressed?

Otherwise I am considering to run it with other characters than the PCs
but later get them to meet these characters .... I am not sure if they
would grasp the concept of the original characters.

Ciao
