I do, although I'm in a similar predicament. I love the level of
historical detail and I like the whole "troupe-style" idea (and it makes a
great resource for my VtDA games, far better than anything by WW), but (I'm
never hesitant to admit) my players SUCK.
(I have a fair mix of powergamers, piss-poor rules lawyers, occasional
players and
just-playing-so-I-can-hang-out-shit-there's-something-interesting-on-cable-if-anyone-needs-me-I'll-be-in-front-of-the-TV
types, plus I have to deal with stupid inter-player personality conflicts
that threaten to break the group up every couple of sessions.)
Only one of my current players is really into character; the best character
background that I've had from the others is "Oh, he's a Gangrel, and he's
Jewish". I'm forming a new group to (hopefully) ameliorate the situation.
(Incidentally, I love UA, but I'm not going to waste it on my current lot.)

"'Kevin,' David interrupted, 'what the Germans should have done
was show the Russians a dead cat and ask them to explain it.'
"'That would have stopped the Soviet offensive right there,' I said.
"Zhukov would still be trying to account for the cat's death.'"
