I think it would make a very good small-scale "hardcore" or "immersive"
LARP too. If you're not familiar with the type, it's the kind of LARP
where you get paged one evening after work and it's Bill who plays Gustav
the Malkador Primogen who wants to have a private primogen meeting at X
restraunt. and so, despite the fact that it's not a "game" night, 4 of the
Primogen show up at x restraunt to discuss things.

A similar type of game is the more controversial full immersion avatar game
where you play yourself 24/7. Kevin, the Setite ghoul could be working
his day job and then get an email from his ally Becky the CoX mage to meet
at a Rave tomorrow night. Essentially, the players are "on call" 24/7 to
be IC (circumstances allowing of course).

So you could play Garth the Entropomancer (who dosen't really do stupid
things to get charges, there's a limit on how realistic these things are)
who hears that Tim who has been away for a while is back in town and
recruting for his new boss, some guy named Eponymous, could call his buddy
David for help and advice. David and Garth could meet for drinks at the
local goth club while discussing just who Tim (who in reality has actually
gotten back from his summer vacation but that fact has been manipulated by
the ST) is working for and why the hell he's carrying around a mutilated
barbie doll.

It takes good rp'ers, a good ST, and a healthy ammount of common sense in
all parties, however it's really rewarding RPwise. It's interesting that
this type of play is becomeing more and more popular with the online gaming
community despite it's controversial nature with the larping community.
With the rise of games like Majestic and the A.I. Cloudmakers' mystery,
on-line games can now call you at home and page you and email you and
summon you to physical meets with people you've never met. It's
fascinating stuff.

Not saying UA SHOULD be run like that, but I think there's a lot of
potential there.

Kevin
