The comic book miniseries Johnny Double (which I should have read more of before mentioning it here) begins, IIRC, with the title character, an ex-hippie detective, looking at his horoscope. It predicts good luck, but then he realizes that its yesterday's paper. He therefore expects the worst (and receives it), claiming "A guy like me never has two good days in a row". The combination of hard-bitten noir elements and cheap mysticism strikes me as appropriate to UA (though I can't say if the rest of the comic follows).
Anyway, it was always my plan to use horoscopes as an easy way to avoid planning game sessions. What's going to happen tonight? I ask myself five minutes before starting, and open up the newspaper. Ah, Jim's character is a gemini, which means his lost love will return and bring trouble, while Fred's taurus is going to have financial troubles (read: take down a plutomancer). I used the I Ching for similar purposes ina Feng Shui game, once.
