Actually, to save my poor Yahoo! account (and with each
message being 30k in size, I was in trouble), I just
blocked the sender's address.  Thus, I was able to still
enjoy the discussion here without being mail bombed.  I
also sent the user a message asking him to remind me (from
another account) to remove his address from my blocked
list, as I don't want to miss out on any possible
information.  

The curious bit is that e-mail programs are typically set
up to send an out-of-office reply only once a day per
address.  If it were Outlook or Lotus Notes, we would have
only seen perhaps only five or six of those messages.  And
even then, rarely do I see those out-of-office replies on a
mailing list.  I think maybe they normally focus on the
"From" field and not the "Reply-To" field.

I can't really say; I'm quite ignorant on that topic.
