For anyone annoyed by the box-busting quantity of
mail produced by the nearly 300 members of this list,
I have a suggestion:

Don't resign, just suspend delivery.

You can view the post via the archives (at
http://lists.uchicago.edu/pipermail/ua/ ), and you can
still post to the list for responses.

To adust the settings, go to the list's info site
(at http://lists.uchicago.edu/mailman/listinfo/ua )
and check the bottom ofthe page, where you can choose
to edit your subscription settings. T first of the
grey text fields is the "Disable mail delivery"
option, which stops the list from invading your box so
regularly.

You check the archives by date, thread or author,
and you don't miss a thing - except if people have
screwed up dates on the computers (which is why there
is a post from 2008 in the archives).

Just and FYI for those who have free web access
and can't take the mass of mail.

Regards,
- R. Menzi
