In the modern consciousness, the best candidate for IC
membership at that time was the (now supposedly
invented) man "Deep Throat" who revealed the scandal
to the press.  He likely started walking in the
Disillusion Dreamer's footsteps during the war in
Vietnam, where he ordered youth to their deaths to
make sure some worthless hill or other didn't belong
to the enemy of the day.  Maybe he found a dream (the
prerequisite for channeling the DD) while fighting the
good fight in WWII, only to see have one of his eyes
pryed open through Korea.  Vietnam held a blowdrier up
to his exposed eyeball.

In the prolonged psychic wake of that lastest of
unsuccessful Asian land invasions, the IC was primed
for a change of some kind.  When the DD's godwalker
turned to the press and pulled the smoke and mirrors
away from the rest of America's dream of governmental
responsibility, he was taken up and replaced the old
DD.

The members of the press who witnessed the event
(forgot their names) went on to have careers, brimming
over with stains left by their involvement in the
ascension... and unable to provide informaition about
their informer, who no longer has records of his
existance, which have been conviniently lost in filing
cabinets and later destroyed when the some underpaid
military clerk mismarked some random box of pension
information "Archived" before it was actually entered
into their new eletronic information storage machines
back in the early 80s.

Of course, many young turks are unaware of the DD's
pre-78 influence, before his latest surge of psychic
relevance, and assume that a new archetype was created
by the event, but those who are older (maybe even old
enough to have seen DD's influence after WWI) know
better.  The 1978 replacement may have spurred a new
wave of god walkers trying to unseat their sitting
member of the IC.
