I mistakenly reccomended the first Hellraiser film for a video night with
my Aunt and her friends... they never looked at me right again... :)
[Damned ads made it look like a cool sci-fi film to me!] That "traumatic"
experience colored by feelings about the film.

But the second one was, I thought, a great story. I especially liked the
way it was sort of a teen quest movie gone wrong. Sort of Labyrinth meets
a real horror film... Still for my money a great film.

I never caught the others (although I have the soundtracks to 2 and 3, and
am looking for the harder to find first one). My critical reading pointed
to IV actually being the basis of a good sci-fi horror film, perhaps a bit
damaged in the final edit, and if anything suffering from trying to be a
Hellraiser film rather than running with the sci-fi horror it had... So
I'm looking for it on DVD for rent...

I didn't hear anything much positive about the fifth one, other than that
it had little in the way of Hellraiser stuff to earn the title... and was
otherwise pretty poor...

Take care,

Liam
