I guess it depends upon your reason for using a fictionalized setting. I'm
using it to underline the gamemaster fiat nature of the game - what I say
goes in this world because it is *not* the real world. And we can tell
that every session because we are in Aurora, which is not Chicago.

I guess at first I thought it would be a pretty lame sign, but it has
worked out really well. Aurora is Chicago as my mind sees it. Chicago in
all but name (actually Chicago is one of the central precincts of the
city). It keeps things just distinct enough that, in particular, my nutsy
players don't go surfing the net for maps and info on Chicago to fire back
at me. And it allows me to leverage off of my memories of Chicago from
when I was there, and the films I've seen using it (or cities like it).

So, as far as I'm concerned, the major cliomancy sites are the same...
except where I add or subtract them... :)
