Ya know, I think most of us sometimes wonder "Why would ANYONE call in
to/appear on one of these shows so they can be mocked and humiliated in
front of millions?"
Well, what if it's a quick and dirty charge-builder?
This is _very_ off the top of my head, but:
Revelomancy - The magic of confession
An offshoot of cryptomancy, this school is based around self-revelation.
The adept gains power by exposing her most intimate secrets to strangers.
Paradox: Making the private public, shame versus exhibitionism.
Taboo: rrrr... not sure, really. Something to do with exhibiting shame or
discretion?
For the purposes of Revelomancy, a "secret" is some piece of personal
information (something about the _adept_themselves_) known only to those
directly involved which is in some way disturbing - that is, capable of
causing a stress check to the person experiencing it. A 'major' secret is
something that is deeply shocking and disturbing - in general, an act or
experience capable of causing a rank 5 or greater stress check.
A secret is revealed once _anyone_ not directly involved in the original
event knows about it, and becomes useless for further charge-gaining.
Minor Charge: Reveal a major secret to a casual acquaintance or stranger, or
reveal a minor secret to a large group (>100 people)
Sig Charge: Reveal a major secret to a large group, or a minor secret to a
very large group (>100000)
Major Charge: Reveal a major secret to a very large group
No real ideas on effects or formulas yet, but I would expect them to have to
do with manipulating people's emotions. These folks _definitely_ have a
blast, but it may take an odd form... maybe they cause the victim to have
little strokes?
Seems like a school in which charges are easy to get at first and then get
hard unless the adept is out there burning their own madness meters getting
NEW secrets to reveal - thus having a high degree of burnout. Plus the
Isolation toll of only being able to share one's personal life with
strangers must be pretty brutal...
Reactions?
