Some ballots were confusing, but in other places there were mechanical
problems. Add into that the tales that have been escaping about campaign
workers insisting that if someone wanted a new ballot because they made a
mistake that they couldn't have one, tales of police harassing black voters
on their way to the polls . . . .
Even Buchanan is now saying that Gore should have won. (For our foreign
readers, Pat Buchanan is a right-wing nationalist whose platform this time
seemed to be mostly about keeping foreigners from ruining our country.)
