I've had issues with that already, as I'm running a game
that has turned into my players doing a lot of very illegal
stuff. My way of solving it: yeah, you just spent a major
charge or con some fleshworker into doing it. You've got
a new body. You can:
(a) Set your body and speed to whatever you want, bearing in
mind that 99 is human maximum. You can have more, but you
won't seem human. Be wary, ye of munchkin blood, this will
seem tempting, but your GM will rightly violate you most
awfully if you attempt serious cheese here.
(b) Max out your wound points minus anything necessary for
the major. That's right, your character can now take two
ouacowaed shotgun blasts to the chest. The down side: you
are going to live through two shotgun blasts and you're not
getting healed at any hospital (Claws of the Tiger suck :).
(c) Totally alter your body in any way you feel like. I
ended up having a fleshworker demon (the only thing I could
pull out of my ass to save a newly created merchant avatar
who had just taken a bullet and was bleeding rather
profusely) save the merchant, and then had the demon (now
in control of the merchant) make another deal with his
bodyguard "for a new body". The demon put him under 'to
prevent any discomfort' (GM smiles). So he woke up buff
as hell, fast as hell, totally new genetic set, and just
a killer set of tits. Incoming self checks as he didn't
anticipate the gender swap or finding out that his newfound
vaginal cavity fits his boss 'like a glove', but still,
totally new identity!
In other words, yes, you can save your excessively criminal
PCs with magick. The cost should be extreme though.
My two (or three...or four...) cents.
Andrew
