Yeah, I remember hearing this before, back when I was
contemplating starting an on-going UA LARP in Minneapolis (Bad
Mojo). In short, its a great idea.
I was going to work it like this: We'd try to have 1 GM per 10
players, which is the ratio that works best for me. Each GM
would be an Archetype, either from the book or made-up, but none
of the players would know who was what.
So, whenever a player wanted to use the game mechanics (usually
for combat or espionage), they'd have to call over a "GM," who
would then ignore the rules to create whatever result they
wanted... IF the action was important to their Archetype. That
way, the players could try to figure out what kinds of actions
each indicidual GM supported and try to get a "good" GM for their actions.
Also, I thought it would be cool to let the GMs start granting
characters Avatar powers without their knowledge. You know, if
their behavior fit the Archetype and all.
Did that make sense? Or am I rambling again? --Dan
