I liked most of this post and thought it was very insightful, but I'm
curious about how people see the NG Cult. I was thinking about that
element of UA recently and came up with this little piece of thought...
To a Catholic Christian, spitting on a cross is blasphemy.
To a Shi'ite Muslim, defaming the Prophet is blasphemy.
To some Hindus, killing a cow is blasphemy.
To some Buddhists, killing any animal is blasphemy.
So then, what is blasphemous to a follower of the Naked Goddess? Any of
the following: Having sex for pleasure. Having sex for money. Having sex
in order to procreate. Having sex in order to strengthen the bonds of
marriage. Having sex as an expression of love and intimacy.
Personally, I think the big potential to make the NG cult interesting and
engaging is not to go the "tantric sex priestess seductress" route, but
rather to use it to look at why someone would give up all the positives of
sex (which is important to a lot of people) in return for power.
I picture NG cultists carrying around folders with scripts and photos, so
that when they do have an opportunity to "celebrate the mysteries" they can
do so in the most accurate fashion possible.
