It depends on who you ask:
Cliomancers see magick as harnessing common belief -
dipsomancy comes from blurring beliefs through toxins; plutomancy comes from the common belief "money=power;" pornomancers are fueled by faith in their
goddess
Dipsomancers see magick as all about expanding your mind -
epideromancers expand their mind through the crucible of pain; pornomancers go the other route; entropomancers ride the edge through the adrenaline of
risk
Entropomancers see magick as karma, pay a price and get your reward -
cliomancers collect residual karma from great events; dipsomancers focus their good karma into spouts of drunkenness which is alternated with powerless
sobriety; pornomancers spread love and good mojo, and what goes around comes around
Epideromancers see magick as a purification and mastery of the self -
entropomancers use risk and danger to master their souls; mechanomancers find purity through their immaculate creations, and their magick is external
rather than internal; plutomancers use spartan economic discipline for social purity and mastery
Mechanomancers see magick as ancient hermetic wisdom, formulaic and ordered -
cliomancers are really tapping feng shui; dipsomancers are working internal alchemy; pornomancers stumbled over tantric wisdom; epideromancy works through
reiteration of brutal rite of passage ritual
Plutomancers see magick as the accumulation of power (magick) in that which is important -
cliomancers use the power accumulated in memories and histories; epideromancers worship their bodies to accumulate magick, and then destroy them to
release the magick; mechanomancers take important objects, and channel that power into magick
Pornomancers see magick as channeling sexual nature -
entropomancers get off on risk; money is the sex of the plutomancer; entropomancers find a latent sexual power in their own transcendent pain
(note that within each school there's different thoughts on magick; one epideromancer might see magick as a martial artist like "mastery of self" where
another might see his body as a fleshy prison and pain helps his spirit transcend...)
