From your TRNSYS schematic, I can see that you are probably very new to
TRNSYS. So let me first ask you a question that we ask many of our
TRNSYS students. If you built this system in real life would it work?
The answer is no for several reasons.
1) You have no pumps to move fluid between the collector/tank and the
tank/heat pump and no control of the pumps.
2) You have no control of the solar collectors.
3) Your thermostat is sensing the device that it is turning on and not
sensing the device .
4) You are using a water-source heat pump to make hot water and while
that's not unheard of, most systems like this would use an air-to-water
heat pump as they are designed to provide higher temperature hot water.
I would strongly suggest that you review the SDHW example in TRNSYS as
it is somewhat relevant and also consider taking an online TRNSYS
training course (they are relatively inexpensive and VERY helpful).
TRNSYS is a powerful tool but it is not the easiest to pick up right out
of the box. Good luck with your simulations!
