[TRNSYS-users] regarding motorized shading modeling

Sachin,

One way to handle this would be to activate an external shading
factor on the affected windows in TRNBuild. You can set the factor to be
an input to Type56 and then use an equation or write a component to
determine the fraction of solar blocked by your motorized shading device
and its controls. It might be good to start by running the building once
with no external shading device (just building self-shading) and then to
run it once with some idealized form of your motorized shading (block
all beam radiation after noon or something) to see the magnitude of the
impact that shading the windows will have before you spend a lot of time
developing an equation or a component to model the actual shading device.

kind regards,

  David
