[TRNSYS-users] Max(1,E_solar) means?

Hello,

I am now calculating efficiency of pv system. But there was an error since
if the radiation is zero then the effiviency will be undefined or infinity.
Then, i check the example in PV-inverter how it calculates the efficiency.
Apparently the equation is E_elec/max(1,E_solar). The question is what is
the meaning of max(1,E_solar)?

Is there any documentation explaining this?
