Dear Wang Yang,

the difference is that in “2D-model” you used the external calculation of radiation data and in “3D-model” you used the internal calculation.
The option “Internal calculation of radiation data” reduces the required input data from the weather data component significantly. To use this feature only the solar zenith (Input 5) has to be connected to the weather data component Type 15, Type16, Type99.
If the option “external calculation of radiation data” is selected, three inputs of incident radiation to the Type 56 Trnsys component will be required. This is generally provided by the weather component.
The internal as well as the external calculation of radiation data are using the same radiation calculation routine from kernel.
The orientation named H_0_0 is automatically recognized as the horizontal radiation. If this orientation doesn’t exist, no diffuse geometric shading and daylight calculation is performed.

Best,
Christoph

Dear Madam or Sir,

I hope all is well.

I have the new questions between old 2D simulation and current 3D simulation (TRNSYS3D):

1) after I imported *idf file to simulation studio, the link between Radiation Equation and Type56 is lack of many inputs and outputs, see below pictures. Furthermore, I cannot also Define new inputs from TRNBuild e.g. IT N 180 90, IT S 0 90 etc. Thus, I cannot use TRNSYS 3D model to repeat/simulate my previous project.
How to deal with this problem? Super thanks

Br.

Yang

Subject: Re: [TRNSYS-users] QTSABS vs QSOLTR
Dear Christoph,

Thank you for your response!

The problem is that, it seems to me, that I don’t have internal shading, so QSOLTR should equal QTSABS. Am I right?

How should I set window type and external devices to get QSOLTR=QTSABS?

Kind regards,
Karol

Dear Karol,

QSOLTR is the total shortwave solar radiation transmitted through external windows and internal shading.
QTSABS also includes the secondary heat flux which includes the convection of internal shader.

Hope that clarifies your energy balance a bit.

Best,
Christoph

Betreff: [TRNSYS-users] QTSABS vs QSOLTR

Dear All,

I am going to find whole solar gain which come to zone throug windows.
There are two outputs that I consider: QTSABS and QSOLTR.

It seems to me that bigger should be QSOLTR, because it is shortwave radiation transmitted through window (but not kept 100% in air node).
The QTSABS is what exactly has been kept - has been absorbed by inside surfaces.
But it is appear that QTSABS > QSOLTR…

Could you write me what is right interpretation of those outputs?

Kind regards,
Karol
