Massimo,
Make sure that you are using a small enough timestep (1-5 minutes is
usually best). Type2 can only make one control decision per time step
and if your timestep is too long then controllers either cannot converge
on a decision or they don't do a good job of maintaining the setpoint.
You might also look at Type108. It sounds as though you have set up
Type2 properly but Type108 offers a somewhat more intuitive thermostat
model. You can disable stages 2 and 3 by setting very high (or low, as
appropriate) setpoints for those stages.
