Michael,
When you say "start with an empty tank" I think you mean that you
want to start with a cold tank, right? Type4 models a constant volume
tank so that it always has the same amount of liquid in it. The
"Derivatives" tab allows you to set the initial temperatures of each
node in the tank. Also make sure that you answer the question on the
derivatives tab as to how many nodes there are in the tank! If you do
need a variable volume tank that can start out empty, you need to use
Type39.
