Richard,
The active layer model does handle no-flow. The air temperature may
not be the best variable to watch to determine whether the system is
operating properly; radiant floor systems often try to keep people
comfortable by keeping the zone surfaces either cool or warm and letting
the air temperature float through a wider range than is generally
acceptable in purely air-based systems. You might look instead at the
inside surface temperature of your radiant slab. I would think that you
would see a slower response to turning the GSHP on and off there.
