[TRNSYS-users] From Energy To Power

Mattia,
There isn't really any simple answer to your question. The answer
depends (among other things) on the kind of system you are using, on the
system controls, on the efficiency of the equipment that you install.
You have computed the space loads; now you have to model the system in
order to determine how much energy it will consume for energy delivery,
fan power, pump power, and central plant power. If you want to be very
simplistic about it, you can assign the system an overall COP and/or
efficiency. For example, an average boiler is about 80% efficient. If
you neglect all of the energy required to move the heat from the boiler
to the space you can say that the amount of fuel required is (heat
load)/0.8.
Regards,
  David
