[TRNSYS-users] Electrochromic glass component

Dear Fred,

It is possible in Type56 to change the type of glazing at each timestep.

So for EC glazing, if it has 2 different states for example (clear and dark), you just have to create 2 glazing files in your window library which properties correspond to the 2 EC states properties. Then in the Window manager, you have to choose "input" when you set your WinID (instead of constant value), and you create a variable that will change the WinID according to how you want to control the switching of your EC.

For example, let's say your 2 EC states correspond to WinID 1000 (clear state) and WinID 1001 (dark state), and that for example you want your EC to be dark during occupation time, and clear otherwise, you can create a variable called "occupation" that will equal 1 when there is someone in the room, and 0 otherwise, and then set : WinID = 1*occupation + 1000

I hope this could help you.

Best regards,

Eloïse SOK

All,

Does anyone have an electrochromic glazing model that they are will to share?

Or does someone have a controller algorithm that I could use to modify the solar heat gain coefficient on a window model that has the SHGC as a variable rather than a parameter?

Please advise,

Fred
