[TRNSYS-users] Type9 data reader generates oscillations

Dear users

 

I have noticed a strange behavior of data reading performed by Type9 in the
case of dry bulb temperature specified as an average value over the time
step.

The screenshot below illustrates the comparison of the 2 following
calculation schemes for DB temperature and RH.

.          Suffix 15 : TMY2 file -> Type15 -> Online plotter (0.125h step)

.          Suffix 16 : TMY2 file -> Type15 -> Text file (0.25h step) ->
Type9 -> Type16 -> Online plotter (0.125h step)

The temperature oscillations (blue line) disappear when the variable is
specified as instantaneous value or when the timestep is set to 0.25h.

Can you think of any explanation?
