[TRNSYS-users] Equation

Hi Wang,

this should be possible with a normal schedule in TRNBuild.
Or you can use the Type 14h to enter the „schedule“ directly in the Simulation Studio.

best regards

Betreff: [TRNSYS-users] Equation

Dear all,

I want to design an EQUATION to control the Opening Factor of the window (Input of TRNFlow) as 1:

every 2 hours (starting at 10 am) the windows are fully opened (OF=1) for 5 minutes.
every 1 hour (starting at 9 am) the windows are fully opened (OF=1) for 5 minutes.

Many thanks in advance!

Subject: Re: [TRNSYS-users] TRNFlow Cs of Large Opening , Simulink integrated with TRNSYS
Dear all,

I have some questions about TRNFlow and Calling Matlab.
1) For Closed Opening in TRNFlow: There is a flow coefficient Cs per m crack length, the default value is 0.0001 kg/s/m at 1 Pa. Why is it this value? How to get or calculate it? Since I don't know how many meters of the cracks are in the zone. I seeked from the TRNFlow manual but there is nothing about it.

when I set Cs as 0 kg/s/m at 1 Pa, BUT I found there is still air flow escaping from the zone (there is only one zone in my project). Because I observed CO2 concentration is still decreasing all the time after closed all the openings.

If I want to simulate the infiltration rate (0.4 1/h) after closing all the openings, How could I set this Cs? What equations can I use? Many thanks in advance!

2) For Calling Simulink: Which experts have some experience for calling Simulink? I designed a Controller using Simulink, I need connect the controller’s output and input with the TYPE 56’s input and output, and set a set-point value using Simulink. Who could tell me some general guides or pass me your examples about that. I will appreciate very much for your help! Since I also didn't find anything in Manual or others.

Or must I translate Simulink into M-file, then connect with TYPE 56?

Many thanks in advance!

Br

You can use the Type9 data reader to read-in your data and the Type16 radiation processor to determine the radiation on different surfaces.

There are a few ways to do it, I just use the Type 9 data reader and just copy the data from Excel into a text file. But this requires that you do the solar radiation conversion from horizontal to your surface outside TRNSYS (I have a custom Excel FORTRAN function and the advantage I find is that it make the simulation time independent).

Or you can use the Type 99 and there are examples of how to do that in:

Dear All, i am a new user in Trnsys 17. i must do a simulation, and validate some data for buildings. and i need to create a weather file. so how can i do it. i have my own Data, radiation, ambient temperature, and relative humidity. do i must have a "meteonorm" program to create a weather data or there is any other solution.

Dear Nomikos,

First of all, if you have an older version of the TESS Libraries, it is not very expensive to upgrade. I would recommend doing that and obtaining the Type1231 radiator. If I did not have that option, I do not think I would pursue active layers. Rather, I would probably just using a pipe and specify the the loss coefficient, then couple that with Type56 via a GAIN input. The validity is questionable, but it might get you close.

Matt Duffy

Subject: [TRNSYS-users] radiator_modelling

Dear Trnsys users,

I want to modell a classic heating system with radiators (that use hot water, heated from a central boiler). I have read previous threads that talk about a component of transsolar (type 362 ) that simulates such a radiator and found that TESS has a similar component type-1231. Unfortunately I don't have these components (I have an older version of TESS library) and I wondered if i could simulate somehow the radiator with type-56 (trnbuild) by using an active layer. I know that active layers are traditionally used for internal floor heating, but I made this consideration :

To add to my heating zone an external wall with active layer and adiabatic conditions on the surface looking to the enviroment ( active layers cant unfortunately be used in internal walls) that has wall area equal to the desired radiator (and by equal i mean the total ! surface of the radiator that takes part in the radiation-convection&nb sp; heat exchange).

I would appreciate your opinion on this,

with regards Nomikos.

There is also an example of Type9 with Type16 in that same directory ".\Examples\Weather Data"
