Dear David,

Type 99 is a little confusing with regards to units.

In the data file radiation data is assumed to be in W/m² if you use the
following definition of “mult” and “add”

"<var> IBEAM_H <col> 5 <interp> 0 <add> 0 <mult> 1
<samp> -1 !...to get radiation in W/m²"

Nevertheless, the outputs are converted within the Type into “kJ/ hr m²”
. Therefore, you don’t need an equation!

Regards,

Marion

Thank you,
So I won't use these pull-down menus and use Equations instead to covert
them.

But I need a simple confirmation about my question : when I use a Type
99, the radiations :
- are given in W/m2
-mulitiplied by 3.6 to be outputed in kJ/hr.m2
Am I right ?

Be very careful!!! You cannot change units using the pulldown menu in
any component's inputs tab!!! A component's output values are passed
directly to the appropriate component input values without any
modification regardless of what units you have selected in the inputs
   or outputs tab. Those pulldown menus are only at the interface level;
when the Studio writes the deck file, it writes everything in the
base units of the proforma. Note that it is safe to change the units
of parameters (and unconnected inputs) again because they will be
converted to base units when the Studio writes the deck.

We do not recommend using Type109. Type109's functionality was moved
to Type99 (for the "user-defined" data file mode) and to Type15 (for
the standard TRY file format). If you find references to Type109 in
the documentation, please let us know so that we can refer to the
   proper component instead!
   Regards,
    David

   Hello there,

I have a doubt with my units. I use a Type 99 and I can see in the
Outputs tab "kJ/hr.m^2" for the radiations.
But in the exemple file (of user defined file), there is this line :
   "<var> IBEAM_H <col> 5 <interp> 0 <add> 0 <mult> 1
   <samp> -1 !...to get radiation in W/m²"
So I wonder if I can ignore this unit in type 99 (kJ/hr.m^2) and just
change it to W/m^2 in type 56's Inputs tab.

By the way, I don't realy understand what is type 109 ? It is often
mentionned in the user guide, but it seems that it is a generic
   component ?

   Thanks in advance
