[TRNSYS-users] Air Cooled Chiller ( Type 655 ) - Major problem

Dear Erik
Many thanks for your reply.

I have implemented your advice but the problem has not been solved.
It seems that changing two columns only substitute the cop and capacity ratios and could not be able to solve the problem of disconnection between chilled water set point temperature and ambient temperature with outputs (like COP).

With the old data file of COP and capacity ratios I have got result as below:
Input Output
Chilled water temperature set point Ambient temperature COP
7 20 2.5
7 30 2.5
7 40 2.5
4 20 2.5
4 30 2.5
4 40 2.5

Substitution of cop and capacity ratio columns in data file and generating the new data file culminates in the following results
Input Output
Chilled water temperature set point Ambient temperature COP
7 20 2.1
7 30 2.1
7 40 2.1
4 20 2.1
4 30 2.1
4 40 2.1

As you see there is no any connection between chilled water set point and ambient temperature with outputs.
Changing those two input parameters have not any effect on output COP?

I was wondering of any other comment and suggestion to solve the issue.

Many thanks
Mehdi Shahrestani

Hello,

The example datafile for Type 655 is incorrect. The first column in the datafile should be COP ratios and the second column should be capacity ratios, not the other way round as in the example file. You can check the source code for Type 655 to see this. Try switching the two columns and you should see a change in COP.

Kind regards,
Knut Erik Enerstvedt
