Type43 uses the standard TRNSYS external file format for one-dimensional
data. If you check the Type43 section in the Mathematical Reference
manual, it will point you to the section in the Programmer's Guide that
describes the format for files that are read by the "DynamicData"
subroutine (trnsys16) or by the "InterpolateData" routine (trnsys17)

Because the active layer model in Type56 is semi-empirical, it imposes
some requirements on the layers that surround the active layer itself
(usually concrete). For example, the minimum pipe spacing in your active
layer depends on the thickness of the adjacent massive layers. As a
result, TRNBuild allows you to define an active layer only in the wall
manger when you have a massive layer selected such that it can check to
make sure that its requirements are being met.
