Aaron,
As far as I know, Trnbuild requires surface areas, but does not limit them 
to being rectangular.
The same applies to zone volumes. You may enter any volume in the zone 
dialog.

In bth cases, it is necesary to calculate surface areas an zone volumes by 
hand before entering them in TRNBUILD.

[TRNSYS-users] Thermal Zone of Non-Rectangular Geomtry (Simulation 
Studio/TRNBuild)
I am having trouble figuring out how to create a thermal
zone either within the Simulation Studio or TRNBuild that
consists of non-rectangular geometry.  This could either be
in regards to circular/spherical geometry or geometry that
could be modeled as "adjacent rectangles" with different
length and width dimensions.  However I am reluctant to
model a single thermal zone with adjacent rectangular
geometry using a "massless wall" and entering 0 thermal
resistance for the "walls" that don't actually exist within
the thermal zone.  Thanks!
