[TRNSYS-users] Radiator Heating in a multi zone

Feargal,
Typically what we do is to model the radiators and boiler system
outside of Type56, having a thermostat model watching the zone
temperatures and then add back the energy of the radiator system to the
zone in whatever way is appropriate. I would probably define an
additional gain that is some split between convective gain and radiative
gain (because in reality radiators actually provide quite a significant
fraction of their energy connectively to the zone). The division between
the four zones has to be determined by how the system is plumbed
(perhaps the radiators are in series, perhaps they are in parallel but
have different lengths of supply and return piping, perhaps they are
sized differently)
Kind regards,
David

My first question is - how do I model an oil fired burner connected to radiators for Central heating & DHW? The power output of the burner is 17kW approx. Should I model it through the heating tab in Type 56? if so, how do I divide it up between the 4 zones and the radiators? The burner is located in the 1st zone.
