[TRNSYS-users] TYPE 504 Part Load Performance

We are modeling a water source heat pump using TYPE 504 and have found that
if the Fraction of Rated Heating Capacity (Input 28) is below about 0.40,
the heat pump will not transfer any heat to the air.  The HP power output
gives values, we have a heating control of 1, and have proper air and water
flows, but no heat is delivered to the air.  When the Fraction of rated
heating capacity is above 0.40, everything works fine.

 

Has anyone had this issue in the past?  Is there a way to correct it?
