First, you have to well understand the file.dat which you have attached.
After you determine the different angle factors, you create a new file .dat like the one which you have attached. Then you put the values determined with the model of your evacuated tube ( in your case you should use the spf model which is the Seido1-16: for that you use the "angle factors" curves in page 2) and then you calculate the different values for each transversal and longitudinal incident angle
E.g. the value for a transversal incidence angle = 15° and a longitudinal incidence angle=30° is simply 1.01*0.98=0.99
*
* The data file for Type71 must include the following data:
*
* --- The file first includes the 7 values of transversal angle:
*    0   15   30   45   60   75   90
* --- Then the 7 values of longitudinal angle:
*    0   15   30   45   60   75   90
* --- Then a matrix of IAM values for different angles. The value in line i, column j corresponds to transversal angle i, longitudinal angle j.
* --- The matrix is written in one long column, line after line
* --- 1 st value: IAM for Transversal angle = 0° and Longitudinal angle = 0 (1.00*1.00=1.00)
* 1.00
* --- 2 nd value: IAM for Transversal angle = 0° and Longitudinal angle = 15 (1.00*1.00=1.00)
* 1.00
* --- 3 rd value: IAM for Transversal angle = 0° and Longitudinal angle = 30 (1.00*0.98=0.98)
* 0.98
* --- Etc.
* --- 8th value: IAM for Transversal angle = 15° and Longitudinal angle = 0 (1.01*1.00=1.01)
* 1.01
* --- 9th value: IAM for Transversal angle = 15° and Longitudinal angle = 15 (1.01*1.00=1.01)
* 1.01
* --- 10th value: IAM for Transversal angle = 15° and Longitudinal angle = 30 (1.01*0.98=0.99)
* 0.99
* --- Etc.

Then you put them one after one in the new file.dat wich you have created. You should put them like the file in the TRNSYS model(the .dat file you have attached). Furthermore, you save your file in the trnsys file (like the exemple in trnsys) , you can name il as the name of the evacuated tube model (Seido).
Finally, in the trnsys worksheet, you attach the corresponding Seido file .dat in the type 71.
It's not complicated and these instructions are applicable for any type of an evacuated tube collector.

Lucas Witmer,

Attached is a .dat file for vacuum tube collectors.  I have also attached a performance sheet from the manufacturer and a spreed sheet that I used to calculate the .dat values.

Thank you,

Mario Ortiz
