[TRNSYS-users] Type703 slab on grade

Fabien,
If you have horizontal insulation directly underneath the entire slab
then you would define that insulation in TRNBuild as a layer in the
BOUNDARY wall that defines the slab. If you have insulation that extends
vertically downward around the perimeter of the slab (like a skirt) then
you define its R-value and the depth to which it extends using parameters
17 and 18 of Type703. If you have horizontal insulation that extends
outward from the perimeter of the slab or if you have horizontal insulation
that extends inward from the perimeter but does not extend all the way to
the middle of the slab then the effects of that kind of insulation is not
calculated by Type703. If I am misunderstanding the type of insulation that
you are considering, my apologies. Please feel free to send me a sketch of
what you are trying to analyze and I will try to answer more clearly.
Cheers,
David
