[TRNSYS-users] External parameter files and TRNOPT

Abdullahi,
   TRNOPT (actually, its underlying engine GenOPT) is designed to 
search for minimums by picking its own values for the optimization 
parameters. If you have one or two parameters that you want to 
optimize, it is easy enough to define some CONSTANTS in the input 
file and use TRNEdit to run a parametric table of the combinations 
that you want to see. If you have something more complex (and it 
sounds as though you do), you might want to look at Type70. If you 
have Type70 in your simulation, it reads an external file containing 
the values of TRNSYS model parameters that you want to change, 
ignores the values that are in the actual input file and replaces 
them with the values in the external file. I imagine that you will 
have to write something to put your node meshing results into the 
format desired by Type70's external file but that might be the best 
way to proceed.
