[TRNSYS-users] type 42c

Pablo,
Type42 is a very generic model for reading the performance data for any
kind of equipment that you want. The restrictions are that the performance
of your equipment can depend on 1, 2 or 3 independent variable conditions
and that Type42 can return up to 5 different performance measures. Examples
of independent variable conditions in the case of a heat pump might be
outdoor dry bulb temperature, indoor dry bulb temperature, and indoor wet
bulb temperature. Examples of performance measures might be heating
capacity, cooling capacity, and power draw. I do not know what data was
available in perform.dat but I am afraid that file has been lost a long
time ago. It is not too much trouble to make new data files using
information from manufacturer's catalogs and in fact, if you have the TESS
HVAC Library, there is a folder called \Trnsys16\Tesss
Models\SampleCatalogData\ that contains some examples. I would send an
example but the heat pumps in the TESS HVAC library read heating and
cooling data from separate files so it would be a little hard to use Type42
to read and use those files directly without the corresponding Type.
Kind regards,
  David
