Attached is this week's NASMHPD Weekly Update, with:
(1) Information on Washington State's new Medicaid 1115(a) waiver which permits spending on a number of COVID-19-related expenses without a budget neutrality requirement;
(2) a story on how the 24 IPS Learning Community states are maintaining supported employment services in the midst of COVID-19 social isolation measures;
(3) a study finding that the risk of fatality from suicide-related overdoses of opiates and barbiturates is higher than for other modes of suicide;
(4) information on a new Food and Drug Administration temporary non-enforcement policy on restrictions related to digital behavioral health applications designed to augment therapy and facilitate mental health wellness;
(5) news of a new web page created by a coalition of digital health solutions companies and mental health crisis responders that is designed to make it easier for Americans to prevent a mental health crisis while accessing available treatment;
(6) this week's Crisis Now Crisis Talk discussion with Matthew Holtsclaw of RI International on keeping seclusion and restraints at bay in mental health facilities;
(7) an array of new Federal links, one of which (COVID-19 Emergency Declaration Blanket Waivers for Health Care Providers
( https://www.cms.gov/files/document/summary-covid-19-emergency-declaration-waivers.pdf) ), further liberalizes the Medicare rules on reimbursement for audio-only telehealth; and
(8) updates of the links to the various approved COVID-19-related Medicaid 1115 Appendix K waivers and State Plan Amendments.
