Building Performance Modeler
 
As a Building Performance Modeler you will work with A/E design teams to provide iterative modeling support for sustainable design strategies.  Provide support to A/E design teams to promote energy efficient design within new client facilities, and provide support to project during implementation of energy efficient design. Providing clear and well-written white papers and reports to various clients (building owners, architects, engineers, certification agencies) regarding project specific energy performance and modeling results.  Lead detailed modeling (energy, daylighting / glare, cfd) evaluation of sustainable building strategies, and building performance analysis.  Prepare analyses, calculations and reports to support energy-related LEED components and submittal requirements.  Utilize modeling software to inform clients of project design decisions. This software includes, but is not limited to IES VE and Autodesk Ecotect.  Participate in local and firm-wide sustainable design calls and local USGBC events, as well as taking personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices. 
 
Minimum Qualifications include:
 Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and Sketchup is highly recommended. Proficiency in 3D Modeling software such as 3D Studio Max is preferred. Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign graphic software is preferred. Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook is required. Working knowledge of and experience with the architectural design process. 3 - 5 years experience using IES VE,  EnergyPlus, eQuest, or DOE-2 desired Previous experience with sustainable design strategies. Prior experience managing and executing energy / daylight modeling, evaluation of complicated building systems (both passive and active), and life-cycle cost analysis is preferred. Recent modeling experience with IES VE, DOE-2, Ecotect, TRNSYS, Energy Plus or other detailed hourly simulation is preferred.   Experience in a building related field, preferably experience in architecture, mechanical engineering, HVAC design or commissioning is preferred. Possess good written and verbal communication skills and be competent presenting in client focused situations. Possess the ability to work effectively in a team setting and the ability to manage projects and tasks unassisted. Basic understanding of the LEED Rating system is preferred. LEED Accredited Professional, preferred but not required.
