I disagree. I think that you'd end up with a situation where, when 
someone would ask him, "What was your first kiss like?" he'd leap in, 
stumble, cite his second kiss, remember that no, that was his second 
kiss, and start trying to figure it out. He knows that the second kiss 
was the /second/ kiss, but the first is out of his head.

After a while, I'd imagine you'd become quite distressed.

I'd say let 'em. If they ever read it, trying to remember what it was 
like there, then they'll discover the memory simply /cannot/ be jogged. 
That a huge chunk of their life, they never did. Mentally, they'll 
'know' that they had a kiss with Alison Ashmore underneath the 
bleachers — But the memory of it is gone. And to my mind, there's one 
helluva Self check every time they look at the page, or it gets brought 
up from then on. It'll be like a gaping hole in your soul.

Also, you gotta see Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It's a 
terrific inspiration for lots of weirdness.
