Hmmm.
So, Greg, how much $$ would you require for something like the TNI book or
some other supplement? I'm not rich, but hell, I can see paying $5 or $10
up-front for a guarantee of quality supplements coming down the pike.
Wondering how many similar sponsors you'd need.
Odd synchronicity working here -- on the way in to work today I was mulling
the sad fact that Angel has been cancelled. It was pulling in almost 4
million viewers a week, but that apparently just isn't enough. Thing is, I
would be more than happy to pay a buck or two a week to see the show, and I
have to believe that a lot of other people would as well. Assume for a
moment that there are four million viewers, and that one of every ten is a
huge fan -- willing to pay (gasp) a whole dollar a show.
Got me to thinking that if this bunch of diehard Joss Whedon fans got
together and pledged a buck a show each, well -- we'd raise $400,000 per
episode. I'm not sure how much each ep costs to produce, including stars'
salaries, but it can't be much more than that -- this isn't Friends or
Cheers we're talking about here. Even if it's a mil/episode (which seems
very, very high), we'd be paying for half of it.
Too bad there's no way to work pay-per-view for television series.
Devil Bunny Needs a Ham. And he's pretty sure that knocking you off the
building will help him get one.
Perhaps he is right. Perhaps he is not.
